Ford Transit Gets The Executive Touch

• New Security Pack - perimeter alarm, full unglazed bulkhead, power operated heated mirrors and a rear parking sensor at £350, saving £150 over previous charges for the items individually.
• New Courier Pack - full unglazed bulkhead, load area protection, cargo stowage rails and integrated rear bumper step at £250, saving £125 over previous charges for the items individually.
• New Air Pack - air-conditioning, tinted glass and a full unglazed bulkhead at £700, saving £250 over previous charges for the items individually.
• Upgraded Executive Pack - power operated heated mirrors, a second remote central locking key fob and an executive badge have been added to the popular pack that includes: power windows, fog lamps, metallic paint, CD/radio, wheel covers, tinted glass and Ford's unique Quickclear heated windscreen at £500, saving £225 over previous charges for the items individually

Four new option packs will be introduced across the Ford Transit van range from next month, called Executive, Security, Courier and Air. The packs will make it even easier for people to customise their commercial vehicle to meet their business needs, with enhanced security and comfort options at the same time as saving money.

3,812 Transit 280 executives were bought in 2002, so the extension to the pack and its availability across the van range will further extend the popularity of this pack with owner operators.

"Transit has a fantastic reputation as a workhorse and this means that our customers spend a lot of time in their vehicle and they have to get many different jobs done in Transit. We wanted to be able to let customers tailor their vehicle to meet this enormous variation in the tasks it has to achieve," said Gary Whittam, director of commercial vehicles, Ford of Britain. "We are particularly pleased to be able to offer these packs at a price cheaper than selecting the single options. Our customers tell us that the wide range of vehicles and the many safety, security and comfort options gives them confidence in Transit and makes it their first choice," he concluded.

The new option packs will be available to order from dealers from 1 July 2003.
