SAS World Record Breaker Teams Up With Ford Ranger - Specifications | Part Two

The new Ford Ranger XLT that Peter will be driving is amongst the best-equipped pick-ups in its class as well as one of the most competitively priced including ABS, air conditioning and CD player in its standard specification. On the introduction of the new Ranger this month, prices remained the same or were lower than the outgoing model.

The new two-and four- wheel drive models have an impressive list of standard specifications: driver and passenger airbags, electric windows, perimeter alarm, heated rear screen, power operated door mirrors, limited slip differential. Overall, all models have a more modern, tough appearance, improved brakes, NVH, ride quality and front seat comfort. They also have new multi reflector headlamps. All 4x4 models have improved towing capacity from 2200 kg to 2800 kg and ABS.

When asked about what inspires him, Peter says that he has an inner drive and determination to challenge himself. When faced with a real-life survival situation when his first attempt at the Atlantic crossing failed, which resulted in Peter spending 32 hours in a sinking life raft. Peter spent the time in freezing temperatures thinking about how he was going to start the challenge again and succeed – which he later did.

Apart from a busy year of exhibitions and presentations. Peter will also be also using the Ford Ranger to appear at exhibitions up and down the country, such as the adventure Travel and Sport Show at Olympia and the Outdoor Show at the NEC Birmingham.
