Ford Mondeo ST220
Ford Mondeo has won the Award for Best Fleet Car in the 2003 Fleet World Honours

The award recognises a number of factors, including driver appeal, range of body styles, performance, handling and specification levels. It also takes into account the resource provided by the manufacturer to make the ownership experience a rewarding one and for this reason the Ford Mondeo is a worthy winner.

Three body styles, four petrol engines, two state of the art common rail diesels and a range of specifications from the stylish and affordable LX to the luxury of Ghia X or the blistering ST220, the Mondeo offers something for every fleet driver. Elegantly styled and a joy to drive, the Mondeo is also backed by Ford’s excellent business center in Byfleet - one of the best facilities serving the fleet market of its kind.

Fleet World editor Ross Durkin said: ‘The Mondeo is one of those cars that you never tire of driving. As road testers we are probably more favourably disposed towards cars that ride and handle well and the Mondeo certainly excels in this respect. But you also have to give consideration to softer issues such as the tremendous breadth of choice and Mondeo’s sharp, contemporary styling.’

Since its launch in 2000, Fords flagship has now picked up 38 awards across Europe, a stunning testament to its popularity. The World Fleet Award was presented at a ceremony held at the RAC Club, Pall Mall on Wednesday 14th May.
