Ford Motor Company have teamed up with Welsh television channel S4C to embark on a 4000-mile trip across Europe on the first leg of an adventure around the world on the 52-degree line of latitude.

Both a Ford Mondeo diesel estate and a Fusion departed Llandovery in Wales last week to explore the diversity of culture, landscapes, flora and fauna, which are connected by the line of latitude, the crew is following. The adventure has so far taken them from Wales through England, Holland, Germany and Poland.

Mondeo and Fusion were selected to take part in the Welsh production after local Ford dealer; Robert Morgan initiated Ford's involvement. 'I thought it was an amazing trip, one I wouldn't mind doing myself! Both cars seemed very well placed to assist in the expedition. They are both spacious and dependable cars, fully equipped to deal with all the elements'.

"Our crew have found the versatility of the Fusion perfect for their needs while presenter Bethan Gwanas is enjoying the drive quality and excellent fuel consumption (47mpg) of the Mondeo. When you are on the road for so many hours it is important you feel both comfortable and safe" commented Sarah Davies, Production Manager at Telesgop.

The first three episodes showing the cast and crew driving across Europe will air on S4C during the autumn season.
