One of Britain's best-selling 'chick lit' authors, Carole Matthews, has partnered with Ford Fiesta in a competition to find a future budding writer.
The challenge is to write a story of no more than 2,000 words, which should include a Ford Fiesta. The winning story will be published on ford.co.uk/fiesta , madaboutbooks.com and carolematthews.co.uk.
The Ford website alone is visited by around 20,000 people every day. The lucky winner will be given a Fiesta to drive for six months, and the chance to meet Carole Matthews for lunch to discuss their writing ambitions when she appears on the Ford stand at the Canary Wharf motor show on 17 June 2004.
Carole began her writing career by winning a short story competition. She has written seven best selling novels and will be judging the competition. When asked for the recipe for success, she said: "Writing short stories is a great, fun way of building up a literary CV. It was certainly the catalyst that started my career as a novelist. The road to success is open to everyone – you've just got to have the determination to head down it!"
The competition is open from April 20 to May 21, 2004.
