Ford Mondeo ST220: Flagship Fast Ford Will Power Into Showrooms In May

Ford Mondeo ST220

The exciting new Ford Mondeo ST220 will be on sale in the UK from May 2002. Priced from £21,745 on-the-road for the four and five door models to £22,745 for the five door estate, the new flagship Mondeo offers excitement, style and outstanding value for money.

The new ST220 is the most powerful Mondeo to date, boasting 226PS and 275Nm torque, yet the car offers customers far more than pure performance with an extensive list of standard equipment. Mondeo's reputation as one of the 'safest places to be' is re-enforced by the inclusion of 'electronic stability control' (ESP) alongside the anti-lock brakes and Mondeo's unique 'Intelligent Protection System', as well as metallic paint, 18" alloy wheels, full leather sports interior with electronically adjustable Recaro front seats and 6-disc CD multi-changer all featuring as standard equipment.

Inside and out, the new Mondeo ST220 features a number of unique styling touches that include sports front grille, unique front and rear bumpers, rear 'lip' spoiler and twin stainless steel exhaust pipes that all combine to produce a subtle but purposeful appearance.

"The Mondeo ST220 offers customers luxury and performance in equal measure", says Keith Kershaw, large car brand manager, Ford Motor Company Limited. "With prices from £21,745 it also offers outstanding value for money. This a car that cossets its occupants while transporting them effortlessly and above all, safely."
