Ford cars provide best-in-class value for money in their segments as judged by What Car? in its Used Car of the Year 2007 awards.
The Ford Focus is declared top small family car with What Car? stating: "The Focus is breathtaking on the road. Whether you want to have some fun or just relax and cruise along, the Focus can do it all."
Not only is the latest Ford Focus model voted best small family car, but its predecessor is still recommended as a wise buy too.
"The Focus is great value, reliable and economical to run," said one What Car? judge, Simon Henstock of British Car Auctions.
In the estate class, it's the Ford Mondeo which shone. What Car? highlighted that fuel consumption of 47mpg should be achieved by the Mondeo 2.0 TDCi Zetec in everyday driving.
"It's hard to think of something this car doesn't do well," said the judges. "There's good space for passengers, but most importantly there's a huge 540 litres of luggage room in the boot – rising to 1,700 litres with the back seats folded down. The 2.0-litre diesel engine makes light work of motorway miles and stays quiet unless you work it hard."
For those in the market with less money to spend, the Ford Focus estate was tipped.
