Ford enters 2005 as the best selling car brand in Wales over the last 12 months.
Ford's Focus, Fiesta and Ka models dominated the Welsh sales charts, taking the top three spots respectively both for the full year and December 2004.
Their combined total of 16,081 units accounted for 43 per cent of the volume achieved by the top ten cars and nearly 17 per cent of all cars sold in Wales last year.
Wales was the only region in the UK to substantially increase sales year on year and saw a 4.6 per cent increase in its car market.
Ford's strong performance will help launch the new Focus this month in Wales. Ford’s charge into the New Year is reinforced by new Fiesta Zetec-S and ST models.
Mark Deans, District Manager for Wales and the West, said: "This was an outstanding performance in a remarkable year. Our dealers pulled out all the stops to meet customers’ demands and the results are reflected in the sales achieved.
"Welsh car buyers showed they still regard buying a new car as highly important and growth of over 4.6 per cent is exceptional.
"We are confident the new Focus, additional Fiesta models and our other incentives will maintain this sales momentum in 2005."
