Viewers tuning in to ITV1 this holiday weekend can compete live from their living rooms for the ultimate Easter surprise - a top-selling new Ford Focus. In a UK first, questions about the car will appear after Ford adverts on ITV1 on Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Sunday.
Viewers can send in their answer by pressing the red button (if watching via digital), phoning or texting. The name of that day's winner will flash up within hours and all three will go through to the final on Bank Holiday Monday. At around 8.45pm, during the break of Monday's Coronation Street, the randomly selected overall winner will be named to take delivery of an all-new Ford Focus estate.
Ford will be the first to make use of TV's graphic technology which enables the Focus ad to be overlaid with live competition results. The competition will kick off each evening during Friday's Emmerdale, Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway and Heartbeat on Sunday. Details of that night's competition question and how to enter will follow Ford Focus advertising featuring spoof Hollywood star Gerard, who has fronted the campaign since new Focus went on sale in January.
On March 28th the three previous evenings' finalists will be glued to the Easter Monday edition of the Weathersfield-based soap hoping to see their name in lights. One will be the proud winner of a new Focus - the UK's best selling car for all six years on sale since its launch in 1999.
Steve Hood, Ford of Britain Marketing Director, said: "We are delighted to be at the forefront of pioneering advertising with the new Ford Focus. Ford will be using the Easter weekend on ITV1 to give family viewers the chance to participate in this exciting competition."
Around 12,100,000 people watched Coronation Street on Easter Monday last year.
