The new Ford Fiesta ST has gone on sale priced from £16,995 with the first deliveries expected in March 2013.

Fiesta ST is powered by a petrol 1.6-litre Ford EcoBoost engine that outputs 182PS with peak torque of 290Nm. This equates to 0-62 mph time of 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 136 mph via its standard six-speed manual gearbox. An official fuel figure of 47.9 mpg on the combined cycle has been records with CO2 emissions of 138 g/km.

The suspension setup which is unique to the ST has been lowered by 15mm over the standard Fiesta arrangement and includes enhanced Torque Vectoring Control (eTVC) to keep everything under control.

The new Ford Fiesta ST is only available as a three-door model and is identifiable by its black honeycomb trapezoidal front grille, large rear spoiler with twin air vents and twin exhaust. There is a choice of Molten Orange and Spirit Blue colour schemes and an optional style pack adds 17in alloys painted Rado Grey, red brake callipers, and illuminated scuff plates

Standard Fiesta ST spec (£16,995) comprise 17in alloy wheels, halogen projector headlamps, ST front fog lights, DAB radio, SYNC connectivity, Thatcham CAT 1 alarm, Recaro seats My Key and air conditioning.

The ST2 trim (£17,995) gains partial leather heated Recaro seats, Sony DAB radio, Ford keyless start, privacy glass and LED daytime running lamps.
