Ford Fiesta NCAP Test (2012)
Ford Fiesta NCAP Test (2012)
Ford Fiesta MyKey

The new Fiesta features a very clever piece of technology from Ford, entitled ‘MyKey’. The Fiesta’s MyKey allows parents to have some control over their offspring’s driving habits and attitude to car ownership.  It limits the top speed and even lowers the output of the audio system – it also prevents safety equipment such as the Electronic Stability Control and Active City Stop from being deactivated. It even mutes the audio system, if front seat occupants are not wearing their seat belts.

If the driver drives safely then they won’t notice any intervention but if they try to exceed the top speed limit of 80 mph then they will be prevented from doing so.

The New Ford Fiesta NCAP Results

Still on the safety front it is pleasing to see that the new Fiesta scored 5-stars in the latest Euro NCAP safety results. In fact the result is very good when it is broken down into four test results, adult occupant rating of 91%, child occupant 86%; pedestrian 65% and safety assist 71%.

Prices for the new Fiesta start from £9,795 through to £16,795 for the top of the range model.
