At the Auto Express New Car Awards, the Ford Fiesta has been named Britain's Best Supermini, for the third consecutive year.

Graham Hope, Acting Editor, Auto Express said: "Once again, the Fiesta has demonstrated its superiority in the supermini sector. The Ford’s head-turning looks, boldly designed cabin and sparkling chassis have all helped secure a remarkable third consecutive victory in this closely fought category."

The Ford Fiesta is available in three- and five-door bodystyles with a range of fuel efficient engines. In 2009, Auto Express named the Ford Fiesta Car of the Year, and Best Supermini in 2010.

Anthony Ireson, marketing director, Ford of Britain said: "This is an important award for the Fiesta as it endorses this latest generation for customers looking for great style, driving dynamics and a wide choice of models and engines.

"The Fiesta line-up has evolved during its short life to include a 95g/km ECOnetic engine which means that five of the available engines today emit less than 130g/km of CO2 and are thereby exempt from vehicle excise duty in their first year."

From the Ford Fiesta range, five-door petrol engine models are the most popular, with Panther Black being the colour of choice and voice control, Bluetooth and USB is the favourite option.
