The New Ford Edge SUV Prices

The new Ford Edge SUV will arrive in the UK towards the summer priced from £29,995 for the entry level Zetec model.

There is a choice of one diesel engine with two power outputs, an 180PS/400Nm 2.0-litre TDCi with six-speed manual transmission, or the 210PS/450Nm bi-turbo 2.0-litre TDCi with six-speed PowerShift automatic transmission. Both models have similar eco-credentials, recording circa 48.7 mpg with emissions of 149 g/km.

There are three trim levels, Zetec, Titanium and Sport with standard equipment that includes all-wheel drive (AWD), Active Noise Control, Pedestrian Detection, a DAB Audio system with SYNC 2 connectivity, privacy glass and 19in alloy wheels.

The AWD system can automatically commit 100% of the available power to either the front or rear axle faster than the blink of an eye when the conditions dictate, normally remaining in front-wheel-drive to reduce emissions and save fuel.

The Ford Active Noise Control system works by detecting unwanted engine noise in the cabin and cancels it out with opposing sound waves fed through the integrated sound system. There is also an acoustic windscreen glass and laminated front windows to reduce noise further. Additionally wind and road noise is kept out the cabin with under body panels and wheel-arch liners

The Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection system utilises camera / radar technology at speed between5mph to 110mph to detect vehicles and people in the road ahead. Automatically braking if the driver doesn't take action by ignoring the system's warnings.
