Ford EcoSport (2015)

The compact Ford EcoSport SUV has been redefined for 2015, on sale now with delivery from October 2015 priced from £14,245.

What is has changed?

This isn't a new model; it is more of a makeover with a number of enhancements and improvements to bring it up to date.

There is a choice of three Euro 6 compliant engines, either a diesel 1.5-litre TDCi which now outputs 95PS, a 5PS improvement over the old model; emissions are rated at 115g/km with a combined fuel figure of 64.2 mpg according to NEDC testing.

If you prefer petrol then there is a choice of two units the 1.0-litre EcoBoost outputting 125PS with emissions of 125 g/km and a combined fuel figure of 52.3 or the 1.5-litre Ti-VCT engine that delivers 44.8 mpg with CO2.emissions of 149g/km.

Some driver's found the spare rear wheel mounted on the tailgate a bit of pain to look over and added weight when closing and opening the boot the EcoSport can now be opted without it. Should you suffer a puncture then there is a tyre inflation kit.

Driving dynamics have been improved with revised springs, dampers, rear torsion beam where the Electronic Stability Programme and Electronic Power Assisted Steering settings have also been tweaked for European roads.

The interior sees a number of styling enhancements, including partial leather seats on Titanium models, there is now a charcoal black lower instrument panel, centre console and door boards. Where the instrument cluster now features a light dimming function and there are chrome-surround rings to compliment the electric window switches. And noise has been reduced with thicker sound deadening materials.

Privacy glass is now available for all EcoSport trim levels and so is the winter pack option - comprising heated windscreen, heated mirrors and heated front seats plus rear seat ventilation at floor level.

All models feature Ford's SYNC voice-controlled connectivity system with a 4-inch colour display in the centre console. Satellite navigation and a Rear View Camera will be available later in the year.
