Ford B-MAX's Easy Access Door System
Ford B-MAX's Easy Access Door System

The new Ford B-MAX is due to go on sale later in 2012 and will be official unveiled at March’s Geneva Motor Show.

Ford has shown us today Ford’s Easy Access Door System which will be incorporated into the B-MAX. The system has been designed to create a 1.5-metre wide unobstructed opening on either side of the B-MAX. Effectively Ford has done away with the central pillar, without compromising side impact protect and incorporated it into the rear sliding doors. Which is good news for those of you with children or mobility problems as getting into the front and to the rear is much easier.

The rear seats and the front passenger seat can be folded flat to create a large load platform, to accommodate everything from bicycles to flat-pack furniture

According to Ernst Reim, Chief Interior Designer, Ford of Europe - “The door concept means you can load really large items, more than 2.3 meters long, through the side doors. This makes a trip to the furniture store, or even a day at the beach with your surfboard, more realistic.”
