The diesel engined Ford Focus and Mondeo models have been selected by double-glazing supplier Safestyle UK, due to their green credentials.
139 model have been delivered to Safestyle UK for field sales staff, as part of its 400 vehicle fleet.
The Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi Edge and Ford Mondeo 1.6 TDCi Edge models were selected as the reflect Safestyle's environmentally responsible image, along with high quality and competitive whole-life costs.
Safestyle determined that the models would meet all their requirements whilst appealing to drivers, and the company contacted ERA Fleet Cost Management to scan the market for improved cost and service.
"The key driver was getting competitively priced contract-hire rentals," said Sean Bingham, ERA's Principal Consultant. "Safestyle had already decided it wanted Ford’s new Auto-Start-Stop technology, not just for its improved fuel economy and reduced CO2 emissions, but because it believed Ford was the most appropriate manufacturer in terms of fit for its business."
The Ford Focus 115PS 1.6 TDCi Duratorq start/stop provides CO2 emissions of 109g/km and combined cycle fuel consumption of 67.3mpg. The Ford Mondeo Edge offers CO2 emissions of 114g/km and fuel economy of 65.6mpg.
Steve Lambert, Safestyle UK Fleet Transport Manager said: "Safestyle has opted for the new Ford range to give our drivers the best drive possible when out on business. These vehicles will also help our company with our ongoing campaign for CO2 and energy-consumption reduction."
The Ford Focus and Mondeo models are provided by ING Car Lease, with Ford Focus replacement being due after 3.5 years and the Ford Mondeos running on three year contracts.
