Peter Kalikow, a New York collector and Ferrari enthusiast visited the factory to collect his one off, unique Special Projects Ferrari Superamerica 45. Ferrari Design styled the model and it was engineered and built in-house and was specified by Mr Kalikow to celebrate 45 years since when we first became a Ferrari client. The Special Projects Ferrari Superamerica 45 will make its public debut on 20th May 2011 at the Villa d'Este Concorso d'Eleganza.
The bespoke design features a rotating carbon fibre hard top and incorporates the rear screen. The boot, made of carbon fibre to reduce drag and increase rear downforce, is entirely new, and houses the roof when open.
Body coloured rear buttresses are integral with the rear wheelarches and contain rear quarterlights. A front grille and special burnished aluminium A-pillars, wing mirrors and door handles are all chrome.
The Ferrari Superamerica 45 Finished in an exclusive Blu Antille to match a 1961 400 Superamerica cabriolet nr 2331S, already in the client's collection.
The wheels are body coloured with contrasting diamond finished spokes, and the roof and carbon fibre front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser are finished in a darker blue, also carried into the cockpit with the dark blue carbon fibre dash trim and driver zone.
Also present in the interior is Cuoio leather trim and Blu Scuro carbon fibre details, as well as a touch screen infotainment system.
