Ferrari is pleased to support Sky 1's Noel's Christmas Presents programme by offering a truly inspirational teenager the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and ride the world's fastest rollercoaster.
Tyler Holpin, aged 16, came to the attention of the Noel Edmonds programme when he rescued 6 children from a neighbour's house when a fuse box caused a fire in the early hours of the morning. Despite his young age, he calmly put a ladder to the first floor window and one by one pulled the children out and carried them to safety. There's no doubt his quick thinking saved lives. As the eldest male in the family, Tyler has also acted as carer for his mother, grandmother, younger brother and twin sisters, while also studying for his GCSEs.
Matteo Torre, Regional Manager for Ferrari North Europe Ltd, commented: "As soon as we heard about Tyler's incredible story, we were very keen to reward him for his bravery and commitment to his family. As Tyler is a Ferrari fan and enjoys riding roller coasters, what better way than to let him ride the world’s fastest rollercoaster at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi! There can be no doubt Tyler's story touched the hearts of all us at Ferrari, and it is our privilege to provide Tyler with this experience."
Tyler and his family were thrilled to ride on the world's fastest rollercoaster, Formula Rossa, which catapults riders to 150mph and gives Ferrari fans the chance to experience up to 4.8G, the same as a Formula 1 car. The Tyler family also enjoyed the wide range of other thrill rides and experiences at Ferrari World which recently opened in time for the last F1 GP of the 2010 season on the adjacent Yas Marina circuit.
Tyler and his entire family stayed at the Yas Hotel which overlooks the iconic Yas Marina F1 circuit, and Ferrari also provided a Ferrari California for Noel Edmonds to surprise Tyler with a passenger ride from the hotel to the theme park. Flights to and from Abu Dhabi were very kindly donated by Etihad Airways.
Noel's Christmas Presents airs on Sunday 19th December 2010 on Sky 1 and Sky 1 HD.
