Christopher Macgowan, chief executive of SMMT said, "We are delighted to welcome FBS into full membership of the society which will enable the company to make its voice heard as part of the collective views from the UK motor industry. The British sports car industry is unique in the world in having such a wide and dynamic range of companies providing products for a demanding and competitive marketplace. The UK has a proud, global reputation of leading world design in motorsport and sports car technology. FBS will be an important part of the SMMT as pioneers in new technology."
With 170 PS on tap and a sub 6 second 0-60 mph time, the deceptively quick £26,635 Census V6 has been in series production since June 2002. Now in its fifth year of trading, FBS is working towards a medium term production target of 50 plus vehicles per year. The Census design team’s experience includes work undertaken for Lotus, Aston Martin, Prodrive and BMW-Rover.
