Japanese compact car specialist, Daihatsu, has introduced massive price cuts on more than 15,000 parts, with average savings of 49.7 per cent.
The reductions take place immediately and affect models not currently on sale but still popular such as the Fourtrak, Cuore, Charade, Move and Applause.
Apart from increasing the use of genuine parts, Daihatsu hopes owners can extend the lives of older vehicles or even restore potential classics.
In fact, apart from being the first Japanese marque to go on sale in the UK in May 1965, Daihatsu has more than 110,000 vehicles still in circulation with an average age of 8.3 years.
Typical retail price cuts include an oil pump for a Charade - down from £100.28 to £36.95 (a 63.16 per cent reduction), a door handle for an Applause reduced from £66.33 to £22.55 (66 per cent lower) and a glowplug for a Fourtrak which now costs £15.35 instead of £27.99 (45.17 per cent down).
Other examples range from a carpet set for a Move priced at £129.09 instead of £377.34 (65.79 per cent lower) to a front wing for a Cuore reduced from £72.09 to £36.58 (a 49.26 per cent reduction). All prices exclude VAT.
Daihatsu Parts Manager UK, Gary Langford, said: “This should prove a welcome boost for owners who have become attached to their cars and want to keep them on the road.”
