BMW is pleased to announce that all cars registered from 1 January 2004, will now be covered by a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty and a three-year paintwork warranty. This move represents a significant benefit for BMW owners as the previous level of cover was six years’ anti-corrosion and one year’s paintwork warranty. The news comes soon after BMW amended its three-year dealer warranty.

Put simply, owners can take their BMW to any garage without affecting the conditions of the warranty, so long as the vehicle is serviced according to the manufacturer’s guidelines. The changes in the terms and conditions of BMW warranty cover are also retrospective, i.e. cars that have all or part of their three-year warranty still valid will qualify under the new terms and conditions.
