This month the UK will get its first sight of the all-new BMW 1 Series thanks to a unique travelling showcase. Called the "BMW 1 Series on Tour", the four-week-long exhibition will visit four of the top cosmopolitan cities in the UK, bringing with it every variant of 1 Series going on sale. In September the 1 Series will be available in 116i, 120i, 118d and 120d models with prices starting from £15,690.
The "BMW 1 Series on Tour" begins in George Square, Glasgow, on 15 July for four days before moving on to Times Square in Newcastle from 22 July through to 25 July. By 31 July the exhibition will hit the Lowry Plaza in Manchester finally ending at @Bristol, for four days starting 12 August.
To herald the start of the "BMW 1 Series on Tour" the public in Glasgow will be able to slip behind the wheel for a test drive on the day, on a first come first served basis. At the other three venues a BMW representative will be on hand to arrange a future test drive.
Prospective customers will not only be able to see and experience the 1 Series up close, but other interactive options will also be available including driving simulator games and special photo booths to take your picture inside the car. A bar and lounge area serving non-alcoholic beverages and ice-creams also offers an area of relaxation in the city centre.
A regional publicity campaign has already started to complement the "BMW 1 Series on Tour" with radio stations in the four areas offering listeners the chance to win a selection of BMW Lifestyle products, the loan of a 1 Series for a weekend or a weekend break at a Malmaison hotel.
