Toward the end of 2011, the BMW Z4 will feature a newly developed 2-litre engine with TwinPower Turbo technology with an output of 240bhp, named the BMW Z4 sDrive 28i.
The supercharged 4-cylinder petrol engine features an all-aluminium crankcase already features in the BMW X1 xDrive28i providing increased torque, improved performance and reduced fuel consumption with reduced emissions levels compared to the existing 6-cylinder induction engine model BMW Z4 sDrive30. Exact figures will be finalised later this year.
The BMW Z4sDrive 28i is fitted with High precisions Injection as well as a turbocharger powered via two exhaust ducts. Other technologies include the variable camshaft control system double VANOS and the fully variable valve control system VALVETRONIC.
