The new BMX X3 has been named "Four Wheel Drive Car of the Year 2011" by Auto Bild Allrad magazine's readers.
This award is the second the new BMW X3 has received, only recently being awarded "Off Road Vehicle of the Year 2011" by Off Road magazine.
Readers of Auto Bild Allrad were asked to name their favourite models from the German market - in nine categories, there are over 130 four wheel drive vehicles to choose from. The BMW X3 was awarded first place in the "Off-road vehicles and SUVs ranging from 25,000 to 40,000 Euros" category in a ceremony in Frankfurt on 24th March 2011.
The BMW X3, which has been on sale in Germany since November 2010, offers 550 litre loading capacity - increased to 1600 with the 40:20:20 rear seats folded down, the largest capacity in the segment.
This Spring, the engine options will feature two petrol and two diesel engines, with power outputs ranging from 184bhp to 306bhp. Alongside eight speed automatic transmission fitted as standard or as an option, depending on model. The BMW X3 also features driving assistance systems and mobility services from BMW ConnectedDrive, which includes technologies such as the optional Head-Up Display and in-car internet access.
