The new seven-seater BMW2 Series Gran Tourer goes on sale for priced from £24,175 for the entry level 218i Gran Tourer.
Following on from the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, the Gran Tourer is 214mm longer and 53mm higher than the, with a longer wheelbase of 2,780mm to increase the interior space to seat seven. The rear most row of seats can fold flat into the floor and middle row slides to increase luggage carrying potential, it all very family friendly.
There is a choice of five turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, with either three or four-cylinders. Starting with the two petrol units 218i (136hp), 220i (192hp) and the diesel three-cylinder 216d (116 hp), 218d (150hp) and 220d(190hp) which has all-wheel-drive.
The rest of line-up sees the power is transmitted to the front-wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox; as an option there is a six-speed Steptronic transmission for the three-cylinder engines, where the four-cylinder engines have the option of an eight-speed Steptronic transmission, which is standard in the BMW 220d xDrive Gran Tourer. All transmissions feature the Auto Start Stop function, while the Steptronic editions also offer a coasting function to save fuel.
There are four trim levels, SE, Sport, Luxury and M Sport;
Standard equipment includes an AM/FM radio, with Bluetooth hands-free system and audio streaming in conjunction with compatible smartphones; the iDrive Controller; Intelligent Emergency Call; a 6.5-inch colour display and the Driving Experience Control switch with ECO PRO mode. An electronic parking brake, a front armrest, a rain sensor with automatic headlight activation as well as Collision Warning with City Braking function. Two-zone automatic air conditioning, rear Park Distance Control, front fog lamps and a multi-function steering wheel.
The 2 Series Gran Tourer Sport adds 17-inch alloy wheels, sports seats and bodywork detailing in high-gloss black.
Where the Luxury model gains chrome trim, interior trim strips in fine wood, exclusive leather upholstery.
The M Sport model is equipped with the M Aerodynamics package, BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line trim, sports seats in exclusive leather upholstery, M leather multifunction steering wheel and bespoke 18-inch M alloy wheels.
