The Continental GTC, Bentley’s new luxury 2 + 2 convertible, was revealed for the first time in the UK last night at London’s Canary Wharf. Over 200 guests attended an exclusive party at East Wintergarden to celebrate the arrival of Bentley’s latest grand tourer. The Continental GTC completes the Continental family of cars that includes the Continental GT and four-door Continental Flying Spur, delivering phenomenal performance and style with all the excitement of classic open-top Bentley motoring.
Christine Gaskell, Member of the Board, Bentley Motors Limited, hosted the event that was held in partnership with Breast Cancer Care, the UK’s leading provider of breast cancer information and support. Stephanie Jacobs, Chair of Breast Cancer Care joined Christine to announce the winners of a luxury prize draw that raised in excess of £5,000 for Breast Cancer Care. All prizes were generously donated by luxury brands including Breitling, Starwood Hotels and Resorts and Links of London.
"We were proud to celebrate the launch of the Continental GTC in partnership with Breast Cancer Care and we are thrilled with the amount of money raised on the evening," commented Wayne Hawkes, Bentley’s UK Head of Marketing and Communications.
"The aim of the party was to generate a buzz and excitement for the Continental GTC in the UK, our home market, following the worldwide reveal of our new car at the New York Auto Show on 12 April. All of our invited guests were women and the event truly delivered an element of glamour that is synonymous with our marque."
The new Continental GTC ensures Bentley’s exemplary standards of craftsmanship and design are on full display when the roof is lowered, offering customers a thrilling combination of sophisticated open-top motoring with outstanding performance from its W12 twin-turbocharged 6-litre engine. With over 552bhp it is capable of achieving a top speed of 190mph with the roof down, increasing to 195mph when the roof is raised.
This event is the first of a series of exciting previews that are to take place at Bentley’s 22 dealerships across the country over the coming weeks. The Continental GTC will make its debut public appearance at the British International Motor Show in Excel London 18 - 30 July.
