New i-Pod connectivity for Audi audio systems allows A4 Cabriolet drivers to pack the perfect summer soundtrack in the glove box.
A new i-Pod console will be music to the ears of prospective A4 Cabriolet, S4 Cabriolet and RS 4 Cabriolet buyers, who will in future be able to enjoy the perfect summer motoring soundtrack without the need to clog the cabin with CD cases.
The new unit - an optional extra costing £175 - is discreetly and conveniently located in the glove box and links i-Pod players to the various Audi audio systems, allowing playback through the speakers, control via the Audi header unit or the steering wheel-mounted switches (where fitted), and battery charging.
The A4 Cabriolet is the first Audi model to offer this option, which will also be available for A4 Saloon and Avant, A3 and A3 Sportback and new TT Coupé models in the near future.New Exclusive Line Interiors For The A4 Cabriolet
Three new interior schemes in contrasting colours give A4 Cabriolet buyers further scope for personalisation.
Audi A4 Cabriolet customers now also have even more opportunity to personalise their cars as a new exclusive line package adds to the wide variety of trim, upholstery and equipment options already available for the range. The exclusive line package replaces the four cylinder Cabriolet models’ fabric upholstery with Valcona leather with side sections in black and centre panels in a choice of Classic Red, Silver or Cognac colour schemes. Six-cylinder Cabriolet models with standard fit leather upholstery will be upgraded to the colour co-ordinated Valcona leather at a reduced cost.
The eye-catching leather treatment is combined with door trim inserts colour coded to the seat centre sections, black floor mats with colour coded piping and colour co-ordinated stitching for the leather steering wheel trim, gear knob and gaiter. Brushed matt aluminium facia inlays and Audi exclusive line door sill trims also add to the specially tailored feel.
The exclusive line interior upgrade will cost from £1,300 in the A4 Cabriolet, and is also available for A3, A4 Saloon and Avant and A6 Saloon and Avant models.Enhanced Audi Digital Radio Service In The Pipeline For A6 And A8
Evolution of unique-in-sector Audi DAB system will offer news on demand and content screening options
Appropriately unique to the Vorsprung durch Technik brand in the premium sector, the Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) module that is already available for audio systems in the Audi A6, A8 and Q7 is about to transform the way drivers are kept up to date while on the move.
The DAB system, which is an optional extra costing £345, already offers a wider range of radio stations than the traditional analogue systems, and delivers them with interference-free sound clarity to rival output from a compact disc.
In future, the system will also be capable of reading the driver regularly updated and personalised news from around the world on demand, and will enable the driver to tailor what is broadcast to suit his or her personal needs and tastes by either screening out or maximising specific items such as sport or weather as required. Information will be transmitted by an automated voice output accessed via the Multi Media Interface (MMI), and will be constantly available at the touch of a button. Content will be regularly updated so that Audi drivers are always kept abreast of the very latest developments.
