The all-new Audi A3 Cabriolet is now available to order priced from £25,790 for the entry level model, with the first deliveries April 2014. Following on from the new A3 Saloon the Cabriolet features powered fabric hood which can be operated at speeds up to 31 mph. The hood features a heated glass rear window and operates in around 18 seconds.
Where the Sport and S line models feature an acoustic three-layer inner padding as standard, it is an option on the SE model. The hood is available in black, grey and brown, and its roof liner can be specified in black or lunar silver - all versions have an active rollover protection system.Audi A3 Cabriolet Specifications
As with the hatchback, the A3 Cabriolet is available in SE, Sport or S line specifications.
Standard equipment includes the fully automatic hood finished in black, plus 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, the MMI radio incorporating an 11 millimetre-thick powered folding screen, Audi Music Interface iPod connection, DAB digital radio, a Bluetooth interface, preparation for SD card-based navigation and a light and rain sensor package.
Sport and S line versions gain the acoustic hood and 15mm lower sports suspension (comfort suspension is a no cost option). The Sport runs on 17-inch and S Line 18-inch alloy wheels; the later is available with S line sports suspension lowered by 25mm at no cost.
They are also equipped with Audi's drive select adaptive dynamics system with five operating modes to fine-tune driving characteristics, dual-zone climate control and a high-resolution colour driver's information system.
The S line includes part-leather-upholstery embossed with the S line logo and an S line sports steering wheel with perforated leather grips and shift paddles where S tronic is fitted. At launch their will be a 140PS 1.4 TFSI petrol engine featuring Cylinder-on-Demand (CoD) technology coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. It will achieve 0-62 mph in 9.1 seconds; 56.5 mpg on the NEDC combined cycle with CO2 emissions of 114 g/km.
Next in line is the petrol 180PS 1.8-litre TFSI mated to a seven-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission which is capable of 0-62 mph in 7.8 seconds. On NEDC combined cycle is can achieve up to 48.7 mpg and CO2 emissions of 133g/km.
On the diesel front the 150PS 2.0 TDI manual can achieve fuel consumption of 67.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 110g/km. Performance is quoted as 0-62 mph 8.9-seconds and a top speed 139 mph.
From February 2014, the A3 Cabriolet customers will be available with an extended list of engines, transmissions and drivetrains. And there will be a1.8 TFSI powered S3 model outputting 300PS.Audi A3 Cabriolet Prices (2014)
