Volvo Wins Fleet News Award For Best SUV

Company car drivers can be some of
the most critical motoring judges and carefully select a car for both
their business and leisure needs, so Volvo is delighted to receive
the 'Best SUV' title for the XC90 in the Fleet News 2004 Awards, ahead
of runners-up such as the BMW X5 and VW Touareg.
With judging criteria requiring good on-road performance and All Wheel Drive for off-road work, Fleet News said: "The XC90 takes all the best qualities Volvo offers and puts them in an all new sector." And when asked which of the vehicles would sit best on the judging panel's company car fleet, the unanimous answer was the Volvo XC90.
This is the second award for the XC90 this year, having already won the 'Best 4x4' title for the second year running in the What Car? Car of the Year Awards 2004 in January. Last year, the XC90 won an impressive number of awards in the UK in 2003, including:
- Scottish Motoring Association - SUV of the Year, plus Car of the Year, 2003
- Auto Express New Car Honours 2003 - SUV of the Year, plus Car of the Year, 2003
- What Car? Car of the Year Awards 2003 (and 2004) - Best 4x4
- Top Gear Car of the Year Awards 2003 - Best 4x4
