Volvo S60 R And V70 R World Debut At Paris Show

Published: 13th September 2002
The awesome Volvo S60 R and V70 R make their world debut* at the Paris motor show – open to the public from 28 September to 13 October.

With 300bhp and 400Nm of torque, the new R-concept S60 R and V70 R models offer abundant performance on demand and the ultimate Volvo driving experience. They are capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in 5.7 seconds, and bristle with the latest technology, including Haldex AWD, a new six-speed manual gearbox (or Geartronic option), Brembo brakes, and a multiplex computer system supplying information to Volvo’s ‘Four-C’ (Continuously Controlled Chassis Concept) system that offers three choices of suspension settings available at the push of a button: Sport, Advanced Sport and Comfort.

Subtle exterior revisions include a lower front spoiler and front grille, unique 18in alloy wheels, and rear spoiler, while the interior is also designed for exclusivity with chronograph-inspired instruments with coloured faces, a choice of special leather upholstery with unique stitching, and complemented by brushed aluminium inserts on the dashboard and door panels.

The cars go into production and should be available in spring 2003, and Volvo expects to sell 450 S60 R and 350 V70 R models per annum in the UK. Prices and full specification details will be released nearer the launch.
