Volvo Invites Golfers To Drive The Green
Published: 16th September 2004
Ambassador clubs will provide members and visitors with leaflet full of greener golf tips, based on a 5 point plan developed by The Wildlife Trusts. Each golf club will also sign up to deliver the highest possible environmental management standards.
Drive The Green - 5 Point Plan
- Understand the wildlife and habitats on your golf course
- Give space to wildlife
- Reduce impacts on wildlife
- Encourage management for wildlife
- Find out more
John Everitt, Head of Conservation Programmes at The Wildlife Trusts supports this approach. He said, "Golf courses can provide a valuable addition to wildlife conservation in the UK by providing a home to many species. We are very pleased that the Volvo and The Wildlife Trusts Drive the Green Campaign will raise the profile of the link between golf and the environment."
Drive the Green is part of Volvo’s continued support for excellence in both golf and environmental stewardship. Volvo has a long and well-established relationship with the golfing community and it is hoped that this leaflet will encourage club members to appreciate and care for their environment at their local golf course.
