Volvo Launches New Fleet Driver Training Initiative

Published: 13th November 2002
Volvo has teamed up with The Advanced Driving School (ADS) to launch a range of driver training initiatives for its corporate customers. Volvo fleet customers can benefit from support, advice, training courses and seminars to encourage and promote safer driving within their companies.

The scheme will go live on 14 November and, later in the year, will be extended to Volvo’s network of 50 Business Centres.

‘We have been talking to the ADS for some time to look at ways of promoting Volvo’s safety brand values more vigorously in the fleet sector. The ADS has the experience and coverage to offer a nationwide service that can support Volvo and its dealers,’ explained Ian Rendle, Volvo’s Corporate Sales Manager.

Initially, three training options will be offered to Volvo corporate customers:

  • A Fleetcraft handbook aimed at company car drivers
  • Half-day classroom seminar designed to talk through safety issues, driving scenarios and getting drivers to think more about safety whilst on the move
  • One-day classroom seminar and practical driver training session combining theory and time at the wheel

‘Volvo has been committed to producing safe cars for many years, and we welcome the fact that it is extending this safety commitment by offering training options to its corporate clients,’ said Jody Oliver, managing director of The Advanced Driving School.
