The addition of Electronic Climate Control, DSTC (Dynamic Stability and Traction Control), EBA (Emergency Brake Assist) and larger, 16in alloy wheels for 'S' models is worth at least £1,500, yet prices increase by just £600 for the 1.8 S, for instance.
The more luxurious ‘SE’ specification (S price plus £2250), offers leather upholstery, cruise control and a trip computer as standard, plus a choice of cool aluminium, transparent ‘Iced Aqua’ or wood-effect finishes for the Volvo S40’s unique, ultra-thin centre dashboard stack. In addition, the SE gains new features of steering wheel audio controls, an upgraded six CD audio system, and larger, 17in alloys.
Bi-xenon headlights, satellite navigation, automatic transmission, plus the new option of an integrated telephone, are among an array of tempting options available for the new Volvo S40 saloon. Volvo has conveniently grouped some popular options together for better value in Winter, Convenience or Family packs.
Customers can place orders for the all-new Volvo S40 from today, and first deliveries are expected from March 2004. Models will be on display in dealer showrooms from late-February next year.
