Volvo S40

How It Looks - Interior

The interior styling of the S40 is pure Volvo, featuring functional Swedish minimalism at it best. The unique free-floating central instrument stack inspired by the latest premium hi-fi systems and has space behind for storage.

The cabin exudes a high level of build quality and leather faced seats, leather covered steering wheel and gear knob are standard on the SE model and above. The cream leather complemented the exterior colour perfectly and set off a very attractive and well laid out cabin.

Comfort and Refinement

Inside the Volvo S40 'Form and function' go hand in hand and the cabin offers executive levels of luxury, comfort. As you would expect of Volvo the seats are supremely comfortable and supportive. The seating position is excellent, with the drivers seat feeling direct and in line with the steering wheel this results in a relaxed neck and back.

We were pleased to see that the drivers seat features power adjustment and has a 3 position memory function as standard and the passenger seat is height adjustable with lumbar support. Our test car also featured dual heated seats. The steering column is adjustable for height and reach enabling you to find the perfect driving position.

On a practical level the Volvo S40D SE is equipped with cruise control, lockable glove box, footwell lights, ECC (electronic climate control), exterior temperature gauge, front and rear power windows, power adjustable and heated door mirrors, autodimming rear view mirror, rear centre armrest with two cupholders and storage, front centre armrest, leather steering wheel with remote audio controls, leather gear knob and leather upholstery.
