Volvo S40 Review

Volvo S40
Our test car was equipped with the Bi-Xenon headlight pack (£850 option), this might seem an expensive option but in our opinion it is well worth the expense if you do a lot of night driving as the Xenon headlights certainly turn night-time driving into near daylight conditions on main beam.
Safety and Security
The following safety & security equipment is standard on the Volvo S40D SE:
Dual stage driver and front passenger airbags, SIPS (side impact protection system), SIPS airbags, IC (inflatable curtain), WHIPS (whiplash protection system) (front seats), ABS (anti-lock brakes) with EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution) and Electronic Brake Assist, DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control), 5x3-point seatbelts, seat belt pre-tensioners (front and outer rear), head restraints - all 5 seats, anti-theft alarm including immobiliser, key integrated remote control central locking including fuel flap with deadlocking system, tinted windows, visible VIN plate, daytime running lights, headlight levelling system, high level LED brake light, side marker illumination, home safe and approach lighting.
The S40 also offers Volvo's 'Approach Lighting System' which illuminates the car and the surrounding area as the driver approaches. The 'Follow Me Home' function switches the headlights on for up to 90 seconds after you have left the vehicle and is activated by a twist of the headlight stalk.
How It Looks - Exterior
The Volvo S40 clearly demonstrates Volvo’s distinctive, modern exterior design with its rounded front profile and V-shaped bonnet swooping down the broad Volvo shoulders to the rear.
The 'Brilliant Blue Pearl' paint finish is an excellent choice for the car and enhanced was is a very attractive and solid looking car.
