It is hard to believe that the XC70 has been around since 1997. Its launch was said to mark the arrival of a new car segment, one that combined a luxury estate with the off-road capabilities of an SUV. The new XC70 remains true to the original format but has evolved somewhat over the years to become sleeker and less tank-like. the full review
The Volvo XC90 was first introduced to the UK in 2003 and when we first tested one in 2004, we were highly impressed. Since our last in 2004 there have been quite a number of nips and tucks. For our second outing we tested the XC90 D5 SE Sport to see if Volvo's offering can still compete within the ever competitive world of premium SUV's which now includes stiff competition from Audi's Q7 and the new BMW X5. the full review

The Volvo V50 Sportswagon made its UK debut in April 2004 replacing the outgoing V40, joining Volvo's 'V' Range which also includes the V70, the 'V' represents versatility. Designed as a Sportswagon for the modern era Volvo's design director, Henrik Otto describes the V50 as 'solid, sporty, urban, dynamic - this is a go-ahead car for someone who lives an active life'. the full review
The Volvo S60 was launched in the UK in October 2000 at the Birmingham Motor Show. It was an immediate success and in 2003 the UK was the second largest market for the S60 and over 57 per cent of those sales were the ‘D5’ turbo diesel. the full review
