Volkswagen Reveals Prices For New Polo Dune
Published: 26th May 2004
Volkswagen Polo
The Dune is available with a choice of three efficient engines: a 1.2-litre 65 PS three-cylinder petrol; a 1.4-litre 75 PS four-cylinder petrol; and a 1.4-litre 75 PS TDI three-cylinder diesel. All come with five-speed manual transmission as standard.
Only two options are offered – metallic or pearl effect paint and a six-disc CD autochanger – because the Dune’s list of standard equipment is already comprehensive. Highlights include: semi-automatic climate control; ABS; electric glass sunroof; distinctive 17-inch alloy wheels; four electric windows; CD player; electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors; front fog lights; remote central locking; and four airbags.
In addition to the alloy wheels, the Dune can be distinguished from other Polos through its raised suspension height (up by 20 mm); darkened rear lenses; anodised chrome finish door mirror housings and roof rails; and uniquely shaped bumpers.
The Polo Dune is just as individual on the inside. The sports steering wheel with anodised chrome spokes is trimmed with perforated leather, as are the gear knob and handbrake grip. The bright metallic look is also featured on the pedals.
The Dune made its UK debut today (25th May 2004) at The Sunday Times Motor Show Live, held at Birmingham’s NEC. The first cars are due to arrive in the UK next month.
