White Van Man Examined In Independent Vauxhall-Funded Industry Report

Published: 7th December 2002
Motor industry guru Professor Peter Cooke has produced an in-depth survey of light commercial vehicles, sponsored by Vauxhall Motors, but undertaken totally independently.

The study from the Centre of Automotive Industries Management at Nottingham Business School is a trend-setter, because while many surveys have been undertaken into business and company car usage and expectations, there have been relatively few into the development of the van industry and its operation.

Driver issues make up a significant portion of the report which dispels many "white van man" myths as it examines a range of issues associated with the driver, company attitudes to, and provision of driver training, vehicle choice and related matters.

The report also looks in depth at acquisition methods, replacement cycles and disposal policies, fleet management issues and industry expectations.

Further information about the report is available from the Vauxhall vans hotline 01582 874372.
