Vectra Top In Fleet Chiefs' 2003 Best Car Poll

Published: 24th October 2003
Fleet operators have named the Vauxhall Vectra 2003 ACFO (Association of Car Fleet Operators), Car of the Year because of its performance, whole life costs and driver appeal.

The award is highly prized by vehicle manufacturers, because it is based on members’ detailed day-to-day operating experience over a full year.

The poll also asks members to consider the depth and breadth of the model range, the manufacturers’ and dealer networks efficiency and attitude, driver opinion and overall cost experience, in making their decision. Voting is on the basis of a complete model range, and not just one individual derivative.

Vauxhall fleet sales director Maurice Howkins said: "We are delighted that Vectra has won this award because it is voted for by full-time professional fleet managers whose business it is to know more about cars than most other people!

"We are confident that Vectra will continue to go from strength to strength, particularly with the new estate ready to join the model line-up next month."
