Ultimate 4WD Action At British International Motor Show

Published: 27th October 2002

Visitors to the 2002 British International Motor Show are enjoying the ultimate 4WD experience - thanks to Vauxhall's The Edge.

Expert drivers in a fleet of silver Vauxhall Fronteras are giving Show-goers a thrilling ride over a series of obstacles including seesaws, ramps and a daunting, steep-sided arch.

Jim Smith, Vauxhall's 4WD demonstration manager, said: “We've designed The Edge to show what the Frontera can do off road and the requirements for off road vehicles. It's great fun but there's also a serious side.”

“These big, powerful vehicles can go anywhere if driven properly. They're stable, controllable and safe.”

The feature has been one of the Show's most popular attractions with visitors. “We've been really busy,” said Jim. “I think any interactive feature works - visitors love the live element. I think it's something that gives them a great experience and great value.”
