Vauxhall Tests Reaction To Aussie Muscle Car

Visitors to Vauxhall's stand have the chance to see all the cars they can buy from their local dealerships, but there's also one car that they'd currently have to travel a long way to get hold of.

The Holden Monaro is a real slice of prime Aussie beef, powered by a 5.7-litre V8 engine that pumps out 300 bhp and makes it capable of speeds in excess of 150 mph. According to Vauxhall spokesman Andrew Andersz it's at the NEC to “showcase General Motors products from around the world that may be possible to sell in Britain”.

He added: “This is the first time the Monaro has been shown outside Australia, and if the press and public reaction is strong enough, we could follow up with some customer clinics. With the Show only just underway it's a little early to tell, but certainly people have been clambering all over it so far.”
