Precautionary Recall Of 'Kiddy Topsafe' Child Seats

Published: 26th November 2004
As a precautionary measure the child seat manufacturer Kiddy is recalling 1,650 units of its Kiddy TopSafe model (sold between March 2003 and November 2004), which is marketed by Sicartex via the dealer networks of Mercedes-Benz and Opel/Vauxhall/GME. The reason for the recall is a production deficiency in the ISO-Fix hook attachment system. Mercedes-Benz and Opel/Vauxhall/GME are also asking their customers to bring the TopSafe seats involved back to their dealers, since the hook attachment system does not comply with the safety specifications, as a result of which the child seat could become detached in an accident.

The respective Customer hotline for for Mercedes-Benz is 00800-1-777-7777 and for Vauxhall 0800 0264 970
