May News From Vauxhall

VX Lightning

Vauxhall’s stunning new concept car, the VX Lightning will be on show to the public for the first time at the new London Motorexpo motor show next week.

The two-seater roadster, based on GM’s Pontiac Solstice, was designed at GM’s UK advanced design studio in the Midlands as a centrepiece to Vauxhall’s centenary celebrations.

More Awards To Add To The Collection

The Vauxhall Vivaro scooped yet another accolade at this year’s Commercial Fleet World Honours. For the second year in a row, Vivaro won the ‘best small van’ category.

Meanwhile, the new Vectra Dualfuel has won the BP GreenFleet Business Car of the Year 2003 award. And more! The ECO Speedster concept car was awarded the Greenfleet certificate of Innovative Excellence.

As Vauxhall’s dualfuel range – the widest in the UK – continues to collect awards, the sales figures are also continuing to rise; increasing by 64 per cent over the same period last year.

Zafira Active Added To Range

Vauxhall has extended its centenary special edition models by adding the Zafira Active to its portfolio. The Active range also includes the Corsa, Astra and Vectra. The on-the-road price of the Zafira Active is just £14,970, which includes £1420 of extras, including sports front seats.

New Engines

A state of the art all-aluminium 2.0 turbo engine, mated to the new manual six-speed close-ratio gearbox, is now available in the Vectra.

In addition, the Euro 4 compliant Vauxhall Astra 1.7CDTi is now being delivered to dealers.

To accompany the new engines, Irmscher, Vauxhall’s car styling specialists, have also released their latest car accessories brochure, available from Vauxhall dealers.

Motability Road Show

The unique and revolutionary mini MPV, the Vauxhall Meriva, will take centre stage at the Motability Road Show on 12–14 June at Donington Park. Vauxhall will work closely with BSM instructors to demonstrate the capabilities and features of the cars.

With the possibility of adapting many of the Vauxhall models for wheelchair users, it is no wonder that Vauxhall has helped nearly 40,000 people become mobile during its 25-year membership with Motability.

International Show

Vauxhall’s latest models, the VX220 Turbo, Signum and Meriva will be included in the range of cars on show at the JHQ International show in Munchengladbach, on 8-9 June.

In support of the families of the service men and women, on active duty in Iraq, pictures will be taken of their children in the cars and mailed out to the Gulf as greetings cards.
