Vauxhall’s hugely successful Astra range moves into its fifth generation next spring and the company has just unveiled the first pictures.
First on the market will be the five-door hatchback to be followed by the estate and a sporty three-door.
The dynamically styled car includes many new features, such as the AFL (Adaptive Forward Lighting) headlamp system, being offered for the first time in the Astra-size segment, and the adaptive suspension system IDSPlus (Interactive Driving System) with Continuous Damping Control (CDC).
ECO-Speedster - The Record Breaker
Vauxhall’s concept car the ECO-Speedster ran at full throttle for 24 hours last week, setting 17 new world records.
Using the brand new 1.3 CDTi diesel engine, which will make its
debut in the Corsa in September, an average of 140.7 mph was reached
returning a respectable 31.4 mpg and a maximum speed of 160.2 mph
was achieved.

As Van Sales Increase, So Do The Savings!
Vauxhall van sales are up 50 per cent over the first half of last year, with yet more fantastic deals offered until 30 September.
Combo, Corsavan and Astravan are available with a three years’ 0% finance deal and just a 20 per cent deposit. Meanwhile, Vauxhall has also launched a series of extra-special deals on the Movano range with a catchy ‘Body of your Dreams’ slogan. For example, core body conversions on the Movano chassis cab and crew cab could save you up to £3,370.
Summer Holiday Motoring Made Safe
Motorists can now buy a comprehensive travel pack this summer from a UK Vauxhall dealer as part of the continued centenary celebrations. At the reduced price of £55, the pack includes a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, warning triangle and a spare bulb kit. A pack of exclusively designed playing cards also comes with the travel pack and pack tidily in a duffle bag.
Vauxhall dealers are also offering 10 per cent off a wide range of vehicle accessories throughout the summer, all backed by a 12-month warranty.
Ello, Ello, Ello, What’s All This Then?
Vauxhall is keeping its customers on the right side of the law, by launching a range of hands-free mobile phone kits.
The kits, designed to fit all major mobile phone brands, are EMC tested, making certain they meet all the legal requirements for hands-free calling in Europe and do not interfere with the car’s electronics.

Big Prizes For The Rotary Club
As part of its fundraising this year, Rotary International is giving away a Vauxhall Signum and a Corsa.
It is the largest fundraising activity for Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland this year and in partnership with Vauxhall Motors, aims to raise £100,000 over the next eight months.
