Vauxhall’s elegant new Vectra Estate, on sale in October, uniquely combines load volume with versatility.
Among the new technologies featured will be FlexOrganiser, a system of tailor-made compartments for the load area, Adaptive Forward Lighting, rain sensors and automatic dipping outside and rear view mirrors.
Additional features include the option of Vauxhall’s Travel Assistant with a Twin Audio for separate programmes in the front and rear. From January the Estate can be ordered with a remote control tailgate.
Innovative filter system for diesel engines
Vauxhall has released details of a new maintenance-free Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). Being unveiled at the Frankfurt International Motor Show, it will debut early next year in the Vectra and Signum.
The oxidation catalytic converter reduces the HC and CO emissions and oxides of nitrogen emissions are also lowered to meet the Euro 4 standard which is due to come into force in 2006.
Performance does not differ from cars without the system thanks to an intelligent regeneration system meaning fuel consumption and CO2 emissions remain at similar levels.
Eye catching developments in the New Astra’s interior
When the new Astra goes on sale in spring next year it will sport a striking new interior.
Additional developments in the Astra’s ample driver and passenger space include three-dimensional instruments and a 6.5 inch monitor for the information display.
An infotainment system will be one of the new systems available as part of a top quality audio unit with MP3 functions, digital radio and a six-CD changer integrated into the front panel.

Executive Rent-A-Car has purchased 250 Vauxhall Signums, the first company in the UK to add the new car to its daily rental fleet.
James Patmore, vehicle acquisition manager for Enterprise in the UK, says: "Our business is all about choice and quality. Vauxhall’s new Signum is a very distinctive product that extends our range of vehicles to fit the business market. Anything that adds to customer choice has got to be good."Published 4 September 2003
