Vauxhall Appoints Mark James As New Director Of Finance

Mark James has been appointed Director of Finance at Vauxhall Motors and elected to the company’s Board of Directors, effective 1 June 2002. He replaces Harry Burkutean who has moved to Fiat-GM Powertrain in Turin as Vice-President, Finance.

Mr James (40) was formerly Controller, sales, marketing and customer care for Vauxhall, a post he held since January 2001. Prior to that he was Director of Special Projects for General Motors Europe (GME) in Zurich. He has previously held finance management positions with Opel France, GM Turkey and GME in Zurich.

Mark holds a bachelors degree in geophysics from Cambridge, a masters degree in physics from Durham and a MBA from Lausanne.

Also effective 1 June 2002 Keith Ward (39) is named Finance Director and assumes full financial responsibility for Vauxhall’s sales operations. He moves from his current role as Controller and Treasurer. Mr Ward has held a number of finance positions since joining Vauxhall in 1979. He holds a HNC in Business Administration from Luton University and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
