Published 19 May 2011 Staff

A leading German breakdown service, ADAC (German Automobile Club), has named the first generation Vauxhall Meriva the most reliable small MPV, having 'substantially fewer breakdowns than the average' in Germany.

The statistics from ADAC cover vehicles from the last six registration years, with the vauxhall Meriva receiving high marks in each year between 2005 to 2010.

The Vauxhall corsa received the best ADAC rating and has already been recognised as the winner for the lowest rate of defects in 2010 from German automotive agency DEKRA.

The Vauxhall Astra and Zafira achieved the best evaluation grade in breakdown statistics for 2009 and 2010.

Over 112,000 Vauxhall Merivas have been sold between 2003 and 2010. The Vauxhall Meriva features the FlexSpace rear seating system, allowing passengers to adjust their seats for more leg or shoulder room- as well as more boot space.
