Fylde car company Moorland Motors has beaten off stiff competition from over 300 garages around the UK to become winner of the Vauxhall 2008 Awards for Excellence for its Aftersales service.

This is the second year in a row that Moorland has scooped the honours. The company, which sells and services Vauxhall cars at its purpose-built site on the Whitehills Business Park in Blackpool, was also winner of the 'Bodyshop of the Year' for 2008, a title it also won in 2007.

These awards recognise exceptional standards of service in the Aftersales division of Moorland Motors. This covers three areas: car servicing under the Vauxhall MasterFit brand; parts supply; and GM Approved Bodyshop services.

Moorland Motor's Managing Director, Tony Boyd, said that he is delighted that the efforts of every member of his 36-strong aftersales team had resulted in this significant award. "Everybody in the team plays their part in providing the best possible standard of customer service every working day," he says. "Regular audits prove that we consistently do that, with the servicing side of the business recently achieving a 100 per cent 'fixed right first time' customer satisfaction score.

"In today's challenging market conditions customers expect the highest levels of professionalism from the people who service their cars, whether that's the receptionist taking the booking or the technician carrying out the work. This award recognises the efforts we make to deliver that high standard to our customers, which is why so many come back to us repeatedly and recommend us to their friends."

Moorland Motors provides Aftersales support to Vauxhall, Chevrolet and Saab owners from its well-equipped workshop at Blackpool. This is the largest and most modern workshop on the Fylde with 17 service bays and a team of 20 highly-trained technicians who service over 18,000 cars a year. A further eight people are employed in the parts department, which carries over 5,000 lines and holds stock valued at in excess of £200,000. A further eight specialists carry out bodywork repairs at its standalone bodyshop in Poulton.

The company offers a wide range of services from routine maintenance to accident repairs. Fixed price menu servicing is available and free health checks are carried out on every vehicle passing through the workshop. MoT preparation and testing are undertaken and Moorland also offers Vauxhall 24 hour accident support, which is free, regardless of the car's age. The workshop and parts department are open six days a week.

Moorland Motors is a family-owned General Motors retailer that has been in the motor trade since 1947, making it the longest-established main retailer on the Fylde. From its state-of-the-art showroom it sells over 2000 Vauxhall, Chevrolet and Saab cars a year.
