With some styling changes, a new trim level and equipment upgrades, the class-leading Vauxhall Zafira looks set to further increase its popularity in the UK market. The changes, set to coincide with the introduction of the new ‘08’ numberplates, include extra chrome detailing on the radiator grille, new foglamp surrounds, revised rear lamp clusters and chrome detailing on the front headlamp lenses. You’re given an option! You’re no longer a single Dad, and it’s no longer just the two boys home for half term, you have added four girls (or is it 3 girls and a special lady?) to the tribe! The experience of a convoy trip from South Wales to Blackpool on a wet October Friday evening in separate cars was enough to make us decide that we definitely needed a vehicle to transport the new “tribe of seven” on a mixture of ‘round the corner’ and ‘great escape’ journeys. My initial thoughts, after years of driving around in a relatively luxurious ‘grand-tourer’ with oodles of space and blissfully tranquil surroundings, were that of ‘minibus’ or ‘van’. the full review

The all new Vauxhall Zafira was launched in the UK in July 2005. We first saw the Zafira in 1998 and it was quite revolutionary as it pioneered the seven seat compact MPV market and in 2004 it accounted for 40 percent of the seven-seat MPV market. The new Zafira keeps the flexible seating arrangement which sees it morph between a seven seat people carrier and a small domestic van. Vauxhall are hoping to sell 50,000 in the car’s first year of production. the full review
