The Car In The Front Row Is A Toyota

Forget the image of American High School teenagers on the back seat – the Toyota Corolla Drive-in movie season will be a drive-in with a difference. Movie-goers will be able to experience traditional British summertime with a twist – barbecues and strawberries & cream mixed with the relaxed chic of watching a great film on the big screen from the comfort of their own car.

At each venue*, against the backdrop of the setting summer sun, a giant 20m x 10m screen will present a film classic to an audience of up to 400 cars per night. The widescreen windscreen view will be augmented by "surround sound" via Toyota FM as the movie soundtrack is broadcast directly into the car, free of rustling sweetie wrappers and coughing.

This mobile movie extravaganza will be showing eighteen of the nation’s favourite films throughout the summer. Guaranteed to interest even the most eclectic of film fanatics, the run includes such Brit favourites as Four Weddings and a Funeral and The Full Monty, classic comedies When Harry met Sally and Austin Powers I and II, recent box office smashes Moulin Rouge and Ocean’s Eleven and ultimate thrillers Jaws and Alien to name but a few.
